SCOTT M. OWEN, General Counsel, Gaither Petroleum Corporation
Scott Owen joined Gaither Petroleum Corporation on February 22, 2011 primarily to provide litigation management support for complex commercial litigation. Scott's duties expanded and now include responsibility for all of the legal needs of the Corporation, including corporate organization, contract negotiation and drafting, litigation, litigation management, and employment related legal issues.
Scott has over 22 years of legal experience with expertise in civil litigation, and additional experience in transactional and business organization matters. His prior employment includes 15 years with the firm of Acosta and Soule, where he was the lead trial attorney for some of the firm's large exposure lawsuits. Scott obtained a B.A from Rhodes College in 1982, an M.A. from Georgetown in 1984, and a J.D. from the University of Houston in 1989.
